Green Switch is another easy and affordable solution to saving money and energy. It allows you to easily maintain custom control of the energy in your home or office. That includes “Phantom Power,” which is the electricity that continues to flow to electronics in your home or office when they are turned off or put on stand by.
Green Switch allows you to designate which outlets and lights are affected and personalize climate control settings. You can also customize the affected outlets, which allows you to turn off one socket, but keep another in the same outlet on. Green Switch also allows you to set up zones, where one switch controls an entire area. For example, you can power down your entire living room with one switch.
Green Switch is wireless technology that does not interfere with any other wireless devices. Professional installation can be completed in about one hour. It can even extend the life of your lighting fixtures, televisions and heating and cooling systems.
Every time you hit the Master Switch you are lowering your energy costs and making a difference in the environment.

We are firm supporters of Spray Foam insulation. It saves money and energy! There are many benefits of Spray Foam insulation:
- 1. Studies have shown that 40% of a home’s heating and cooling loss is from air infiltration through many leak sources, such as the cracks around roof lines, outlets and windows. Insulation materials that are not self-sealing cannot prevent this, but Spray Foam insulation creates a continuous barrier that prevents the waste of energy—and your money!
- 2. The lack of air flow also prevents moisture infiltration and the growth of allergen and pathogen.
- 3. It helps reduce exterior noise.
- 4. It creates a barrier against gas and odor.
- 5. It is permanent and will not sag.
- 6. It adds structural integrity to the building.

Calfayan Construction is dedicated to the education of our employees so that the company remains current as technology advances. Recently, the BETEC (Building, Environment and Thermal Envelope Council) through the U.S. Department of Energy prompted the AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association) to develop a program for certification to install windows and doors. We immediately enrolled Reis Calfayan, Operations Manager, and Nathan Stith, lead carpenter, in the program.
We are proud to announce that Reis and Nathan are now Certified InstallationMasters installers!
To become a Certified Installer Reis and Nathan were trained and tested on:
- installation techinques
- proper material selection
- job site safety
- protection of the homeowner’s property
- quality control
- product care, adjustment, cleaning and more
It’s important to have a Certified Installer to install windows and doors because manufacturers’ instructions are inadequate to install windows and doors correctly. If they are not installed correctly they will never reach their peak performance (no matter how much money you spend!)
Mistakes installing windows and doors may result in loss of energy savings, problems with air and water leakage, and signifcant damage to your home from water damage and mold growth.
Properly installed windows and doors may be eligible for state and federal rebates due to their contribution to energy savings!
Prevent any problems and gain the possibility of a rebate by hiring a Certified Installer such as Reis and Nathan.
